• Inspiration Killers: Unblock Yourself

Once upon a time (early 2020, to be exact), about two weeks after being forced to strictly work from home, I found the final piece to an almost year-long puzzle: my day job was an inspiration-killer, artistically speaking. That time when the world around us stopped turning and forced us to do the things that we’d be doing, had there not been a need to get a day job, suddenly felt like breathing again. Who would’ve thought that in the middle of a pandemic I’d be feeling like myself. I remember it vividly because, well, these are some of the exact words I wrote once I felt the fairy (also…

  • Words to Inspire the Dead

Today’s post is just to provide a little space to some of the best words ever written — and one of my absolute favorite quotes by the wise and great Francis Scott Fitzgerald. Great words to live by. Enjoy! For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I…

    Patterns – You Go!

From the obvious observations diaries, I present to you this tiny piece. When the tide is high, you surf When the current’s low, you swim When the tea is poured, you drink When the bills are due, you pay When the food is served, you eat When your feet are tired, you sit When the feeling’s strong, you love When inspiration strikes, you create When the music is good, you dance When the going gets tough, you vent When life lessons speak, you learn When opportunity knocks, you open When your time comes, you GO. There’s a pattern to everything, whether human-made or by nature. And since I know how…

  • Playing It Safe? Break Through

It’s either a nine-to-five with a 401(k) plan, be potentially set for life (but with a side of Sour Patch), OR swim against the current for an odd chance at doing what you really want. Our options seem so limited; break through that. I have not played it safe, and it’s come with consequences, but are we here to just ultimately show up to our funeral intact? That sounds like a sad purpose. As someone said, “Trust the still, small voice that says, ‘this might work and I’ll try it’.”

  • You’re the Real Deal

What some men say, or what you think men say about your chest, is bringing you down. Don’t let this fiction influence your reality. Remove everyone’s eyes from you. Forget about everyone’s views on the “ideal” breasts and you’ll be alone in the room with the only critic that matters: yourself. It’s important that you understand that you’re not a walking magazine cutout. You’re the real deal, the full 3D experience, if you will, with working organs that cannot be trimmed down (or blown up, in our case) just to fit the mold. Love your assets — they’re beautiful the way they are. Bringing women a bit of inspiration on this start…

  • Dig a little deeper, from another angle

I am highly inspired by the inspired, and the inspiring; by the extraordinary and the sublime; by confidence and humility. And thankfully, we can find that kind of inspiration all around us. Sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper, look a little closer — perhaps from a different angle.

  • Life Trying to Knock You Out?

Here’s a reminder to anyone who can relate not to throw in the towel yet. You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary…so you can know who you are, and what you can rise from. –Maya Angelou (My guess is life wears a hat and smokes Cuban cigars.)

  • Inspire Me, Inspiration You!

As you walk down the street, flick your hair, move your feet or throw your hands in the air, a work of ART is being based on you. As you work your way up and pave your way through, someone is ROOTING for you. As you do something as simple as being yourself, you’re inspiring someone along the way. So do us all a favor and keep doing what you do; keep being an inspiration, inspirational YOU.

  • Inspiring Words from The Oscars

For the first time in forever, I was actually touched by some of the acceptance speeches at the Oscars last night. From Leto to Blanchett, there was inspiration and a sense of sincerity in their words. Here are some of my favorites. When I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me and every little child that no matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid. –Lupita Nyong’o To all the dreamers out there around the world watching this tonight in places like Ukraine and Venezuela, I want to say we are here and as you struggle to make your dreams happen, to live the impossible, we’re thinking…

  • It Is Never Too Late

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the…
