A better world: sometime this lifetime

Sit back, relax, drink your bourbon. Not a care in the world. Their kids aren’t safe, but yours are. Why should you care, right? You could not imagine your life without your family by your side, but when it happens to others, you turn your back. You can’t conceive the idea that others might want and deserve to be as happy as you, a happiness pursuit that you think you’re entitled to because by some superiority complex you have convinced yourself that this world is yours. Just because she’s a woman

I will talk a big game in person, on social media, or wherever I feel my opinion is needed. But I don’t always bring up politics to this, my sanctuary — where I conduct my own therapy sessions through poetry, retrospective anecdotes, and storytelling. However, there comes a time when it is most necessary.  Even after being bullied and harassed for speaking out, once upon a time, I still talk my sh—t on my site when I have to. The fact that a political party has had an agenda this entire time to, essentially, disrespect women and make us suffer is simply incomprehensible. I keep asking myself why? Because this is not about defending “precious life” — they already lost that argument long time ago when they decided guns have more rights than people; when they decided the mass murders of innocent children are totally okay. This is not about them being “pro-life,” so please save it. This is about their religious views, which…

  • Women’s Day All Day Every Day

What can I say about women, on International Women’s Day, that hasn’t been said already? Oh, how about simply, a woman can carry another living thing in her womb and keep it alive for nine months — show her some respect. Boom! [mic drop] Okay, it’s not a new “flex” but isn’t it just insane? I must say. And don’t even get me started on our lunar phases (it is quite the monthly bill). I think about our feminine nature often now that I’m getting older and have become more curious about aging, and I am just in complete awe of our strength; of how much we can endure physically…
