Said in B.C., Rephrased in 23
Since the beginning of time, scientists have proved their findings; priests have preached their sermons; philosophers have made their point. What I’m trying to say is there’s nothing new under the sun. The same advice Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle had for the people back in B.C. is still relevant in 2023. Do we really change after time? I’m starting to believe maybe only physically. And that’s a maybe. Why this thought? Because I was reading through some of the things I’ve written in Not Another Inspirational Quote, and thought about how often we tell ourselves and others the same affirmations in hopes that it will change or improve our journey.…

Proudly owning my words
My thing is, it is never about telling anyone how to live their lives. It’s about spreading the wisdom and knowledge that I know I’ve gained, which I proudly own. It’s about the things that I know have worked for me and which, sometimes, are simply basic “common sense” — and also things I should have done —hoping to uplift someone along the way. That’s it! If you connect with my words, that’s soooo GREAT. If you don’t, it’s also OK! Being a writer isn’t much of a lucrative business in modern times, unless you’re a celebrity [eye-roll]. It always baffles me how people so desperately prefer to read stories…

Nobody Asks How You Are
Nobody asks how you are Because you checked in with your stories, you’re alive And your skin is glowing you must be fine and that last post of yours dope, fire, kiss, and hearts You smile a lot to be insane You’re in good shape Your limbs are moving Can’t be your strength Forget the validity of your struggles others have got it worse but thank your god you managed a week full week, now rejoice Work meetings Leisure travels People judging Razzle-dazzle But nobody asks you how you are when you barely managed a phone call before you choked When sleeping is a mystery to be solved When you…

Hey Girl, You’re the Full 3D Experience
And so much more! Don’t let fiction influence your reality. Remove everyone’s eyes from you. Forget about everyone’s views of the “ideal” breasts and you’ll be alone in the room with the only critic that matters: yourself. It’s important that you understand that you’re not a walking magazine cutout. You’re the real deal, the full 3D experience, if you will, with working organs that cannot be trimmed down (or blown up, in our case) just to fit the mold. Love your assets. Just a sweet little reminder for all my ladies out there to not conform to social norms and beauty standards. This is an excerpt from my little book…

Pandemic Aftershocks
Today’s blog post is just a brief, raw, almost unedited thought with a hint of inspiration and hope. I was thinking earlier that it’s been a whole year of this sh*t. IT’S BEEN A YEAR. It feels like it was just yesterday when I first heard about COVID-19 and we all started living in this…hell (for lack of a more suitable word). I’m not being selfish; I know we were saving one another by staying home and doing so many social-distanced strange things, like the lock-down, but I can’t help feeling robbed! So many stolen life moments, social events, job opportunities, networking possibilities…a whole year flushed down with the rest…
