Once upon a time, I wrote a few timeless lines. This poem from 2014 is called High Five, and it’s still true to my heart. So here it is again (with some light editing). Just keeping it alive. Every Day Should Be a Party
Maybe it has something to do with getting older or maybe it doesn’t. But lately, I’ve been thinking about the purpose of life a lot. Call it existential crisis, a product of aging, or whatever, but it has hit me. I’ve been wondering why some people take life so darn seriously. By the way, I wrote a book
It confuses me what society defines as success. With the explosion of social media, it’s been easy to study people’s behavior; what they do on a daily basis, what they like (literally), what inspires them, what they aim to be. And I can’t help but notice that society sees engagements, weddings, and births as a grandiose triumph. They really dig that shit. I’ve witnessed just about enough Facebook engagement celebrations in the course of just one week. The funniest thing is everyone seems to go gaga over engagements and weddings, as if they were the ultimate achievement.
